Reverse Osmosis membranes are the heart of every Reverse Osmosis system. To ensure that our systems perform effectively and  produce high quality pure water, RO-Man only use the excellent quality Reverse Osmosis membranes. The membrane works by forcing water through a semi-permeable membrane. This will allow pure water to pass through while rejecting many contaminants including viruses, bacteria, heavy metals and fluoride. Reverse Osmosis is the best method to properly remove fluoride from water. The contaminants will be removed to the waste with the system producing pure water.

The Reverse Osmosis membrane will remove an average 97-99% of tap water contaminants. We only use high quality thin film composite membranes in our systems. These membranes are 100% dry membrane maximizing shelf life with high rejection stability at high input TDS.

When replacing a membrane we recommend that you change the flow restrictor at the same time. Flow restrictors have a similar lifespan and this will further ensure that your membrane will maintain the correct recovery and rejection ratios which affects performance and quality of the water produced. Reverse Osmosis membranes perform best when they are used fresh. We recommend that membranes are not stored but purchased fresh when needed.

Our membranes will fit in most standard Reverse Osmosis systems and housings.

Description

Important Operating Information

  • Elements must be kept sealed and moist when in storage. Drying out will irreversibly damage the membranes.
  • Prevent elements from freezing, or being exposed to direct sunlight.
Elements are shipped in sealed bags and contain a preservative solution of 1-2% (by weight) of sodium meta bisulphate (Food Grade).
  • Discard the permeate from the first hour of operation.
  • Permeate flow varies with feed water temperature. Divide the rated flow with the correction factor below to get the permeate flow at that temperature.
  • Membrane Elements for residential systems have a one year warranty from the date of shipment. Warranty is void for membrane elements fouled by suspended solids, precipitates or biological growth. Membrane warranty is also void if the membrane elements are improperly used, poorly maintained or improperly stored.
  • Warranty claims for membrane elements must be made as detailed in Membrane Warranty Claims Bulletin.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Use the cable tie provided to remove your old membrane.
  2. Apply a small amount of silicone gel, or alternatively petroleum jelly, to the O-rings for easier installation.
  3. Insert your new membrane into the housing, with the two O-rings first, until you feel this seated correctly.
  4. Once the membrane is seated correctly, make sure the housing O-ring is moist.
  5. Screw the housing cap back onto the housing.
